Setliff Law would like to congratulate the winners of the 2016 Virginia Truck Driving Championships. The winners were: Daniel Woods of FedEx Express (Christiansburg) in the Step Van class Robert Crowder of Old Dominion Freight Line (Greensboro, NC) in the Straight Truck class Robbie Cottrell of XPO Logistics (Roanoke) in the 3-Axle class Darren Huffman of XPO Logistics (Wytheville) in the 4-Axle class Keith Carmichael of The Martin Brower Company (Manassas) in the 5-Axle Van class Stacy Warren of XPO Logistics (Wytheville) in the 5-Axle Flatbed class Anthony Cottrell of XPO Logistics (Roanoke) in the 5-Axle Tank class Willard Anderson of Walmart Transportation (Sutherland) in the Sleeper Berth class Homer Blackwell Jr. of UPS (Fishersville) in the Twin-Trailers class A total of 103 professional truck drivers from across the state representing 17 different companies entered the competition. There were 24 "rookie" drivers who competed in the Championships for their first time. The event is sponsored by the Virginia Trucking Association and its Safety Management Council and is patterned after the American Trucking Associations' National Truck Driving Championships. The first-place champions listed above will represent Virginia in the National Championships to be held August 10-13 in Indianapolis, IN.
