Stephanie Hamborsky is a civil litigator and workers’ compensation attorney with experience at both the trial and appellate levels. She handles all stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, conducting depositions, participating in mediations, preparing cases for the Court of Appeals, and arguing before the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission.
Before joining Setliff Law, Ms. Hamborsky managed a docket of more than 80 active cases, representing employers, insurers, and businesses in workers’ compensation matters and civil litigation—including personal injury and insurance-related disputes. She also appeared before the Commissioner of Accounts and has additional experience in small business law, contract drafting, and intellectual property matters.
Her legal foundation was built through a judicial clerkship with the Hanover County Circuit Court, where she supported the court in hearings and trials and gained insight into judicial decision-making.
Ms. Hamborsky earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she served as Symposium Editor of the Richmond Journal of Law and Technology. She received her B.S. in Business with a concentration in Finance from Virginia Tech, graduating cum laude and as a Virginia Commonwealth Scholar. She is admitted to practice in Virginia and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.
Outside the office, Stephanie enjoys spending time with family and friends, her dog Duncan, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
