
Nernemsaa graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in January 2022 while actively serving as a Physical Security Specialist in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in South Korea. Later that year, he began his master’s degree in Legal Studies, continuing his education until his honorable discharge from the Corps in October 2024.
During his military service, Nernemsaa received multiple awards and commendations, including the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for meritorious service, presented by the Base Commander of Camp Mujuk, and a Certificate of Commendation personally awarded by the 2-Star General of MCIPAC.
Before enlisting in 2020, Nernemsaa worked as a legal assistant and legal secretary. After completing his service, he returned to the legal field, serving as a paralegal and office manager at a law firm in New York.
Outside of work, Nernemsaa enjoys reading, working out, and staying active on the courts—where he’s turned his collegiate tennis experience into a passion for pickleball.
