Mr. Barrick’s most recent legal background is centered around civil defense of insurance companies and their insureds in trucking matters and personal auto accidents; and insurance coverage disputes.
Mr. Barrick’s experience prior to working in private practice includes a long history of public service. He served in the US Army from 2010-2015 where he received the Homeland Security Distinguished Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal, among others. Mr. Barrick interned at the office of then-state senator Jennifer McClellan throughout law school as a Senior Legislative Intern, where he assisted in legislative research and constituent outreach, focusing on policy issues. He continued in that capacity during her gubernatorial campaign.
Mr. Barrick followed that as the Special Assistant for Records Management at the Office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth. He then served as a Staff Attorney for the Virginia State Corporation Commission, Public Utilities division, representing the Commission in complex matters.
When not working, Mr. Barrick enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, cooking overly complicated recipes, and enjoying Virginia's state parks by hiking and kayaking.
