Congratulations, Steve Setliff, new member of the National Truck and Heavy Equipment Claims Council

Congratulations to Steve Setliff on his recent induction into the National Truck and Heavy Equipment Claims Council, or NTHECC. Mr. Setliff was inducted into the council at the Spring 2017 meeting in Dallas, Texas. He was there to deliver a presentation on the topic, “Handling the Catastrophic Trucking Accident: Investigation and Claim Defense.”
Mr. Setliff and his team of attorneys at Setliff Law have extensive experience representing trucking companies, their insurers and their drivers in a wide variety of claims, including catastrophic personal injury, property damage, and toxic cleanup. Mr. Setliff also handles workers’ compensation claims, negotiating and drafting of independent contractor agreements, and routine traffic citations. His practice covers the gamut of trucking litigation, from first scene accident investigation to effectively and efficiently trying cases to verdict. He serves as General Counsel to the Virginia Trucking Association and is an active member of the Virginia Movers and Warehousemen Association, the Maryland Motor Truck Association, the National Tank Truck Carriers, the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), the American Moving and Storage Association, and the International Association of Movers. Mr. Setliff has been repeatedly recognized in “The Best Lawyers in America” in Transportation Law (2008-2017), and he has also been recognized by Virginia Super Lawyers (2009-2017).
The NTHECC originated in 1961 in Chicago and the objectives and purpose from that meeting remain strong today: to deal with common problems of the members in the handling of insurance claims in truck and heavy equipment, to promote and develop high standards of ethics in the handling of insurance claims, and, to promote safety in the ownership and use of trucks and heavy equipment.
