Setliff Law welcomes two new partners to the law firm

(Richmond 2013) Setliff Law is pleased to announce that Mr. Eric S. Jensen and Mr. Brickford Y. Brown have joined the law firm as partners in the Glen Allen (Richmond) office.

Mr. Jensen is Virginia trial counsel for several of the nation's largest interstate trucking companies. Beginning with accident scene investigation, and culminating in appellate work where necessary, Mr. Jensen has represented drivers in traffic court, worked with clients and claimants to help resolve claims prior to suit being filed, including pre-litigation mediations, and has defended all aspects of the lawsuit if and when it reaches that stage, including appellate work where necessary. Mr. Jensen was the recipient of the “Biggest” Defense verdict of 2002 (Virginia), has obtained several defense verdicts in high profile multi-million dollar lawsuits in state and federal courts across the Commonwealth. In addition to his defense of trucking companies and their concerns, Mr. Jensen also has extensive experience in defending (1) products liability claims at both the State and Federal Court levels, (2) attorneys and real estate professionals - negligence and malpractice claims (errors and omissions), as well as varying degrees of involvement with commercial litigation. Mr. Jensen completed his undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts and obtained his law degree from the University Of Richmond TC Williams School of Law.

Mr. Brown's practice focuses on the national, regional and local defense of large and complex products liability and toxic tort cases. He has a refined specialty in scientific, medical and engineering issues and an extensive history of developing and presenting global defense strategies for pattern litigation. He has represented prominent manufacturers of automobiles, motorcycles, construction equipment and agriculture equipment against claims of manufacturing and/or design defects and involving devastating injuries and fatalities. He has also defended many clients in cases related to asbestos, benzene, pharmaceuticals and noise-induced hearing loss. As lead trial counsel, he has obtained numerous defense verdicts on behalf of Fortune 500 companies in California, Louisiana, Virginia and West Virginia and has also obtained defense verdicts in several notable criminal prosecutions for first degree murder and the first federal prosecution of a mine superintendent for willful violations of MSHA. He has also made numerous arguments before state Supreme Courts. He is admitted to practice in the State of West Virginia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, their respective Federal District Courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Brown is former Chair of the DRI Toxic Tort and Environmental Law Committee, a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, listed in Best Lawyers in America (Mass Torts), named as a Virginia Super Lawyer (Products Liability Defense) and is rated "A-V" by Martindale-Hubble.
